We  put on a Big Show to celebrate our 25th anniversary in June 2019 at the Ipswich Regent Theatre. Over 175 pupils danced in that, and you can see some photos from the show on our 25th Anniversary Show page.   You can see photos of previous Big Shows on our gallery page.

Shows in the Regent Theatre in Ipswich

The Big Show - 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2019

Our pupils staged a show on each of these years to give them stage experience and to raise money for children’s charities. So far we have raised over £8000 for the charities, and several times have been the one of the best selling shows at the theatre.

We have provided pupils to be the juveniles and dancers for many of the professional pantomimes in Ipswich. Their role in the pantomime has gradually grown over the years in which we have been involved and they not only danced but also had speaking parts in many of the scenes. The pantomimes included Peter Pan, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, and Aladdin.
Appearing in these pantomimes has given our pupils the opportunity to work with, and learn from, established professionals such as Brian Blessed, Kirsten O’Brien, Anita Dobson, Peter Duncan, Maureen Nolan and Letitia Dean.

Shows in the professional theatre in London

Pupils of the Suffolk Academy have appeared in 'The Stars in Our Eyes' shows staged at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Sadler’s Wells and the Royal Albert Hall.

We regularly have pass rates of 100% in our exams and often have many of our pupils getting Honours or Distinctions. We enter our pupils for British Ballet Organisation exams because of their high standards and because they are one of the most respected dance organisations in the UK.
